Harry was\u00a0 sent to record\u00a0 TFC at LaFerte this year.\u00a0\u00a0 His report is\u00a0 short on the written word due to\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0 strange encounter with\u00a0\u00a0 French hospitality, this is what\u00a0 he remembers:<\/p>\n

TFC’s\u00a0deployment to\u00a0La Ferte Alais this year consisted of the MkVB Spitfire and the Hawk 75, arriving in the safe hands of Nick Grey and Patrice\u00a0Marchasson respectively, with the Spitfire following the Hawk by a couple of days.<\/p>\n

Fridays practice\u00a0had to be scrubbed thanks to\u00a0being caught\u00a0out by\u00a0heavy rain\u00a0shower (with a bit of hail thrown in for good measure – they\u00a0 could have\u00a0 stayedin England\u00a0 if they wanted that\u00a0 sort of weather!) this all rolled in whilst waiting for an impressive practice by the Aeronavale Rafales to finish.<\/p>\n

After a few minutes hoping\u00a0for it to pass (with Nick and Patrice strapped in, and everyone else sheltering under the wings)\u00a0the decision was made to get the aircraft back into the hangar ASAP, which is easier said than done when there is no tow bar for the Spitfire\u00a0 (Roy, take note)! I think we must have nearly set a record for the fastest a Spitfire has ever been pushed away, with no less than 17 people pushing,\u00a0and\u00a0Nick Grey leading the way!<\/p>\n

On both the show days Nick Grey displayed the Spitfire alongside George Perez in the French Mustang, and Patrice flew a spirited display in the Hawk.<\/p>\n
