Spitfire Mk-XIV G-SPIT had her engine refitted after a major overhaul last night:
After the reports from Chino over the week end (thanks JBS) we are back to the hangar at Duxford today. TFC Spitfire MK V EP120 has been out on the line for engine tests today
While work is also continuing on the Mk XIV with reassembly of the Griffon engine well advanced. We will be providing more detail of the work with this aircraft in our new online version of Fighter Log in the future.
As the first month of 2014 comes to an end work continues around the hangar. Since last week the Wildcat has come into the maintenance area.
While the Corsair and Hellcat await parts before undergoing engine runs.
The Spitfire mk XIV is well into the winter servicing programme.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Harry Measures and his camera today – as you can see in the slideshow below most of the aircraft are receiving some winter tlc at the moment.
