Friday the 30th May and the Fighter Collection had one of those busy days.
In the 7 days leading up to the IWM air display at the end of May TFC were “busy”.
Despite this they managed to grab a few clips of video. We were also lucky enough to catch the TFC Hellcat (thanks to Pete C from veao who were setting up the Flight Sim stuff in the hangar at the time (as you do )) and just prior to its first flight in a number of years.
A big thanks to Martin and his team for supplying a number of these clips from a variety of cameras! Enjoy:
Great Weather today ! A few pictures of TFC aircraft and some of the crew participating in the week end Great to see and chat to everyone who stopped by the Friends of TFC stall:
First the Flight Simulation department who were busy both days
EP120 who had great fun in the tail chase with the Buchons and assorted Spitfires
The Hawk understated as ever
Martyn performing checks after the Wildcat displayed
and last the Wildcat
Don’t we all!
The team from virtual-aerobatics.com will be on hand over the week end in Hangar 2 at Duxford to provide demonstrations and “have a go” sessions on DCS Flight Simulation software including the P-51 , all in view of TF-51, Miss Velma.
So why not try your hand or have a go with the BAE Hawk and Mig 21 simulations which are also available over the week end.
Friends of TFC will also be available to talk about old aeroplanes and will have a few give aways as well as the usual merchandise.
Many thanks to everyone at TFC who kept us up to date on this important flight while being extremely busy.
Friday 23 May at just after 17:45 the Fighter Collection Grumman Hellcat took to the skies again. More pictures to follow.
No pictures but great to see the Hawk out and about (up in the air three times) today and the Bearcat with drop tank attached air testing as well!
Great picture to start the day. TFC Spitfire Mk V, EP120 out on the ramp ready for engine runs – and all before 8:00 in the morning!
