Volunteers cleaning Sea Fury parts
Wildcat Engine
Gladiator Engine
Sea Fury
Spitfire Mk 1
As the first month of 2014 comes to an end work continues around the hangar. Since last week the Wildcat has come into the maintenance area.
While the Corsair and Hellcat await parts before undergoing engine runs.
The Spitfire mk XIV is well into the winter servicing programme.
We’ve been following the engineers work during the last week. Today it is the turn of the volunteers.
So first thing a meeting to decide on a plan of action in a rather chilly hangar as the heating was on strike:
Next off to clean the Hellcat
and Spitfire which had been covered with dust during the floor repairs earlier this week.
More news on the installation of the new Carburettor.
The pipework is all fitted. The induction trunking is now on, just waiting for some hoses then comes the attachment of the lower trunking then it’s ground runs 🙂
A busy day at Hangar 2. With the removal of the old Carburettor previously
and the arrival of the new carb back from the ‘states
work will start later this week on fitting the replacement.
