A day of great changes, at one stage the Wildcat didn’t know whether it was an inside or outside day.
Eventually the sun shone through and the aircraft emerged for some great flying in the afternoon
Should have some pics later on but latest is that Hawk 75 and both P-40s have been up and about to day in preparation for the display tomorrow.
That was the plan anyway -Hellcat has just been out onto airfield and then the rains came….and no that doesn’t mean it will be flying at the display this week end!
Martyn C caught these pictures just before the weather changed
Spitfire Mk Vb and Hawk 75 have also been out for engine run ups, pictures may well follow.
While TFC prepares for the traditional airshow this weekend there are a number of volunteers at TFC who were at Duxford 40 years ago as volunteers with EAAS. These are a few photos we believe from that event and the airfield at that time. It is possible the airfield is wearing better than us! As usual we will have our stall in the hangar
So memory lane then , the control tower wasn’t always as posh as it is now:
The hangars weren’t as full (or as warm) as they are now
People still took photos from the naughty field
and what it was all about
All pics courtesy of a Boots 126 instamatic …time moves on
Bearcat/Wildcat and Gladiator all out for runs today. Below is a piece of video caught by Fred of the Gladiator on Monday:
TFC engineer photocall: All the TFC engineering team were involved in an engine run for the P40-F today – the shy ones are on the other side…
Sunday 29th Sept Update. All Fighter Logs have been despatched across the world so you have either received or are due to receive your copy. Today the P40-f had a test flight while other aircraft are being readied for next year or the October airshow. The following video covers the sounds from day and a visit to the hangar:

Good to see everyone in Hangar – lots of chat and also people on DCS Flight sim stand having a go at flying a P-51!
