  • Seven Days in May

In the 7 days  leading up to the IWM air display at the end of  May   TFC were   “busy”.

Despite this  they  managed to  grab a few clips of video.  We were  also lucky enough to  catch the  TFC  Hellcat (thanks to Pete C from veao who were setting up the Flight Sim stuff in the  hangar at the time (as you do )) and just  prior to its   first   flight in a  number of  years.

A  big thanks  to Martin and his team for  supplying a number of these  clips from  a variety of cameras! Enjoy:

  • More from the archive

So we are sitting in the excellent Duxford Aviation Society volunteers cafe last Sunday and long term TFC volunteer Gareth passes me a DVD and says “thought you might be interested guv”. Too right!

This is part 1. “Friends of TFC” will be able to watch the “air to air” stuff in part 2 later this week. Roll on Flying Legends then.

  • TFC Volunteers

We’ve  been  following the engineers work during the last week.  Today it is the  turn of  the  volunteers.

So  first thing a  meeting to decide on a plan of  action in a rather  chilly  hangar as the heating was on strike:

  • January 2014 pictures from Hangar 2

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Harry Measures and his camera today – as you can see in the slideshow below most of the aircraft are receiving some winter tlc at the moment.

  • Hellcat Engine Run

That was  the plan anyway  -Hellcat  has  just been out onto airfield and then the  rains  came….and no that  doesn’t  mean it  will be flying at the  display this week end!

Martyn C  caught these pictures  just  before the  weather  changed

Spitfire Mk Vb and Hawk 75  have also  been out  for engine  run ups, pictures  may well  follow.
