  • September Airshow News

    Quite a  bit to  tell  you today.

     

    As well as  the  aircraft  displaying at the  weekend which currently include the Bearcat (see her  below, caught on camera  by  Martyn C.  yesterday  when  Stu Goldspink  arrived back  from a familiarisation flight)

    We will have  both the  Friends of TFC stall and DCS in the hangar.  As  it isn’t   Flying Legends we have allowed DCS to  talk about  jets as well as  Mustangs!  This  is what they  had  to say about the  week end:

    “Hi, DCS will be at Duxford! For both days,  there will be 3 PC’s to come and try the latest DCS modules and have a sneak peek at the new DCS Hawk from VEAO.   Two of the Virtual Horsemen will be there along with staff from both VEAO and the Virtual Aerobatics server.

    Fancy trying a module you don’t already have? Want to ask the opinions of some other pilots? Or just come down to say ” Hi” on the day and enjoy seeing us while   located next to the amazing aircraft of the Fighter Collection at Duxford. ”

    The  Friends of TFC stand will have our  new  merchandise  and other  goodies on show.

  • Tuesday 9th July Bearcat

    So as the air cooled this evening Stephen took the Bearcat up for one of his “special” displays. As usual we all failed to catch the ‘cat in the viewfinder while it was in the air. Imagine instead as you look at the following pictures, imagine the smell of hot oil, the click of contracting metal as the exhaust system cools, the lurch as the impressive Bearcat is put to rest until another day. Sometimes there are parts of Flying legends you can’t experience over the fence….

  • Tuesday 9th July -updated 18:25

    Much happening today

    [Updated 18:22 The Boss has just landed after a flight in the Bearcat

    On the P-51 front Stewart Dawson checked out P-51C Princess Elizabeth and SteveO (see article in imminent Fighter Log) was in TF 51.

    P40 F – Steve H had a quick fly around and Dave Southwood strapped the P40-B on for a check flight.

    Lots of Spitfires on the ramp and a further update later tonight.

  • Aeroplane news

    Friday and both Bearcat  and Gladiator have successful test  flights today at the  hands of PK.

    Picture  below  caught the P40-F and Spitfire  Mk Vb out  for engine  runs, possibly  more  important is that  sky!

    Successful engine tests on P40-F and Bearcat 🙂 Test flights in the queue, awaiting pilot etc.

  • Sizzling Sunday at Duxford

    A few tech. challenges but a great show today with the bonus of TFC aircraft returning from a successful Victory show at Cosby

  • The story so far

    Bearcat and Corsair have been up for a practice and I am informed that the pilots currently enjoying an ice cream or two! Pictures of aeroplanes later but not the ice creams.
