  • Flying Legends – Top Tips

    Quick update the hangar is becoming quietly focussed and there is a definite air of purpose – The Nimrod and Wildcat have had engine runs and compass swings and all we need is the pilot and suitable weather at Duxford at the same time!! Work continues on the Spitire Mk VB with the addition of wingtips (again). The Mustang Tf-51 also recieving attention.

    Now, however you choose to visit Flying Legends there is always more to do than time allows.

    Here are a couple of ideas to save on time and hassle.

    First join Friends of TFC online before you visit! This will allow you Free entry to the Flight Line Walk though the priority entrance. Plus you also have the benefit of the Friends of TFC members enclosure during the display. (We will have a special announcement about this area before Flying Legends): Join HERE

    The latest Fighter Log is nearly complete – we are just awaiting a few details before it heads off to the printer and is prepared as a download.

  • May Airshow – part 1

    What a  great  day!  Sunshine, Warbirds  and Old Friends.

    With only  48  days to  Flying Legends 2013 anticipation in the hangar is  increasing by the  day.  Flying Legends ticket sales are  up  over 18 percent on this time last year, so everyone else is  obviously as excited as   us!

    Just one picture from early this  morning (which seems a long time ago now) , we will  have a longer report tomorrow.

  • More things to see in Hangar 2 this week end

    Just t o  update  you on what we  have in Hangar 2 this week end.

    As if the  opportunity to win 2  gold passes for  Flying Legends 2013 was not enough.  We also have the  ever  cheerful Friends of TFC team on hand to talk about  old aeroplanes and stuff, and  Friends of TFC merchandise to  prepare your self for the  airshow  season.

    Finally  you can have a go at  Flying a Mustang, well not a real one but Two members of The Virtual Horsemen will be on hand in Hangar 2 at Duxford on the Sunday, showcasing The Fighter Collection’s / Eagle Dynamics latest flight simulator, DCS: World. We will have a PC  set up, with all available modules including A-10C, Ka-50 Black Shark, P-51D Mustang & the Huey, for you all to try your hand at flying the latest generation of PC simulation.

    It is really simple.

    Come along to the Friends of The Fighter Collection stand at the Duxford Spring Airshow on Sunday May 26th 2013 and enter the “One  Question”, “One Tagline”  competition about The Fighter Collection.
    All the correct answers will be placed into the infamous Fighter Collection ‘Bone-Dome’, with the winner being drawn just before the display commences.
    Come and find us on our stall in Hangar 2 during the morning of the Spring Air Display to enter the competition and you could be the lucky winner.
